About
Who am I?
Hi, I’m Monique, a Counsellor, Psychotherapist, and Reiki Practitioner and mum, supporting adults, adolescents, and children. My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in an understanding of neural biology and the nervous system, allowing me to tailor therapy to each individual’s unique needs. I work from a multi-modality framework, integrating evidence-based psychological and somatic approaches with holistic practices, and I believe there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing. I deeply respect each person’s unique journey and do not rush the therapeutic process, allowing space for healing to unfold at its own pace.
When working with children, I use Synergetic Play Therapy to create a safe, attuned space for exploring their inner world, building healthy relationships, and integrating experiences and trauma. Beyond therapy, I offer holistic healing experiences such as Reiki, Crystal Healing, and women’s and mums and bubs circles, providing a nurturing space where you can feel supported, connected, and cared for as a whole person.
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to your healing and growth, honouring the deep interconnectedness of mind, body, and energy. I support you to explore your experiences, feel truly seen and understood, and gently integrate trauma in the present moment.
My approach
I offer a collaborative and deeply attuned therapeutic space, grounded in a Gestalt and somatic approach. This means my approach is focused in the present moment and relational. When you begin therapy with me, you’re stepping into a space where you can slow down, focus on the here and now relationship, and be met with care, curiosity, and without judgment, part of the work is collaboratively make sense of your emotional experience.
In my work, I support you to build awareness of your present experience, your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations, while also paying attention to the patterns that begin to emerge. Together, we gently explore the deeper roots of your story, how your earliest relationships have shaped your inner and outer world, your family dynamics, and the patterns that continue to influence your decisions, behaviours and relationships today.
I take time in this process. There is no rush. We move at a pace that feels safe and supportive, allowing space for insight, integration, and meaningful change. At times the work may feel grounding and reflective; at other times it may feel more emotional or tender. Both are a natural and important part of the process.
